BSW built a branded casino and sportsbook platform for a SEGOB-licensed betting operator in Mexico that had no online presence of its own. The product launched in 12 weeks, settling in pesos and operating under the operator’s existing retail permit.

Context

The client operated a chain of land-based betting shops in Mexico under a SEGOB/DGJS permit, with a loyal retail audience and no digital product. Mexican law allows online gambling only for permit holders or their partners, so any online launch had to operate inside that existing license instead of as a separate, unlicensed brand. Competitors with mobile-first products were already pulling players away from the shop counter.

Problem: No Platform, No Engineering Team

The operator’s expertise was retail, not software. It had no online platform and in-house development team, let alone experience operating casino or sportsbook infrastructure at scale. Every additional week without an online product meant another week of revenue limited to whoever could physically reach a shop, while digital-first competitors captured players the retail network was never built to reach.

Problem: Regulation and Payments Had to Fit Together

A generic platform would not do: the product had to operate inside the operator’s existing SEGOB permit, settle in Mexican pesos, and support the cash-based payment habits of its existing customers. Assembling that from separate vendors, one for platform, one for payments, and one for compliance advice, risked a launch timeline measured in quarters, not weeks.

Approach intro

BSW proposed one Turnkey Platform covering casino, sportsbook, payments, and content, built to the operator’s brand, priced and scoped for a fixed 12-week launch.

Problem → Consequence: Every Week of Delay Was a Week of Lost Players

Without a live product, the operator’s mobile-first competitors kept absorbing players who wanted to bet from home instead of visiting a shop. Each week spent evaluating vendors or negotiating separate contracts for platform, payments, and content was a week those players didn’t come back for.

Solution: One Platform, One Brand, One Launch Date

BSW delivered the casino and sportsbook as a single system, tailored to the operator’s brand and Mexican payment habits, with a fixed six-stage delivery schedule.

  • Casino and sportsbook on one system
  • Brand identity applied across the interface
  • MXN settlement with local payment methods
  • Agent panel for the existing retail network
  • 150+ providers connected through one API

Implementation intro

Once the scope was agreed, BSW’s team handled the build end-to-end, covering backend, frontend, admin tools, branding, and provider and payment integrations on the standard 12-week Turnkey schedule, with the operator involved at each milestone, not only at kickoff and launch.

Implementation: Casino and Sportsbook Platform Integration

Casino and sportsbook platform integration ran through one core from week one, not bolted together afterward: shared player accounts, shared wallet, and shared admin panel. That meant the operator managed one system instead of two and could turn on sportsbook features for the same players already registered for the casino without a second onboarding flow.

Implementation (dense): Payments and Providers Built for the Mexican Market

Payment integration went beyond adding a gateway: the platform had to reconcile MXN settlement, support cash-based deposit habits, and stay compatible with the operator’s SEGOB reporting obligations, all while connecting 150+ game providers through one API instead of one contract per provider.

  • MXN settlement configured by default
  • Cash and local payment methods supported
  • 150+ providers connected via one API

Results: From Retail-Only to a Full Online Product

The operator went from a purely offline business to a branded online casino and sportsbook, live inside its existing SEGOB permit, in a single 12-week project. Retail players gained a mobile-first way to keep betting with the same brand, and the agent layer let the operator extend its existing network into the online product instead of building a new one from scratch.

  • 12 weeks — from scope to live launch
  • 1 system — for casino and sportsbook
  • 150+ providers — live at launch
  • 0 — separate platforms to maintain

Conclusions

The core problem wasn’t a lack of demand. It was the absence of a compliant, brand-ready online product. By delivering casino, sportsbook, payments, and provider content as one system on a fixed 12-week timeline, BSW let the operator turn an existing retail license and player base into a full online business, without adding technical risk on top of the launch.

FAQ

Can we launch online if we already hold a SEGOB permit?

Yes. Mexican law allows online operation for existing SEGOB/DGJS permit holders or operators partnering with one. BSW builds the platform, payments, and content layer. The permit or partnership itself stays with the operator, and the product is built to operate inside that existing license.

How long does a Turnkey launch take in Mexico?

A standard Turnkey launch takes about 12 weeks from agreeing on the scope to going live, covering backend and frontend development, branding, provider and payment integration, and full testing before launch.

Does the platform support our existing agent network?

Yes. The platform includes a separate agent panel with multi-level agent and sub-agent support, player-level statistics, and automated commission calculation, so an existing retail or agent network extends into the online product.
